Art Basel in a small group: hotel, Messe and collections with one driver
Art Basel returns to Messe Basel from 17 to 20 June 2027. For a handful of collectors, a gallery team or a group of friends, a minibus or car with driver links the hotel, the show and the museums that fill the rest of the week.
Getting to the Messeplatz
The fair fills the halls on the Messeplatz, on the Kleinbasel side of the river. Coach places at Messe Basel are few, and nothing has been published on group vehicles for the 2027 show; the operator settles the set-down with the venue nearer the time. Elsewhere in the city, coach parking costs nothing, but no space can be booked.
Badischer Bahnhof, close to the Messe, has an official coach set-down point, limited to 30 minutes, which can be a simple meeting point after a long day on the stands.
Collections around the fair
In Riehen, the Fondation Beyeler keeps coach spaces at its own address; book group tours at least a month ahead and note it is shut on Mondays and Tuesdays. Museum Tinguely runs private tours for up to 20 people, to be requested from the museum, and has no parking of its own, so your driver drops you off and moves on.
The Kunstmuseum, closed on Mondays, wants groups booked ahead and has a short set-down on Dufourstrasse. The Vitra Campus across the German border is about 8 km away; book its architecture tour with the museum.

Flights in and out
From EuroAirport to Messe Basel is about 11 km, around 17 minutes in light traffic; your driver meets you on the Swiss side. Zurich Airport is about 86 km, a little over an hour, and Geneva Airport about 2 h 50 min.
Questions travellers ask
Car or minibus?
Up to eight passengers, a car with driver. From nine people upwards, a minibus for up to 16; with a few seats spare there is room for catalogues and small purchases.
Can the vehicle wait outside the Messe?
Plan on drop-off and pick-up at agreed times instead. Messe Basel has only a few coach places, and the operator confirms where the vehicle waits.
Can we fit Vitra into the same day?
Yes, it is close. A Swiss-based vehicle may cross into Germany and back, and the operator checks the German road rules for the trip.
