Each of the twenty places below has a page of its own: where a minibus can set you down, which airport is nearest and which day trips start from there.
Lake towns and cities
Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Bern and Lucerne are the usual starting points, with Lausanne, Montreux, Lugano, St. Gallen and Schaffhausen close behind. Several are here for what lies around them: Schaffhausen for the Rhine Falls, Montreux for Chillon and the Lavaux vineyards, Lucerne for Pilatus, the Rigi and the lake.
Mountains and the south
Interlaken and Grindelwald open up the Jungfrau region. Zermatt is reached via Täsch, because the village is car-free. St. Moritz and Davos lead into Graubünden, Engelberg up to Titlis, Chur onto the Rhaetian Railway, Verbier and Gstaad into their ski areas, and Locarno along Lake Maggiore and into the Verzasca valley.

Probably. A trip that starts near one of these places, or passes through, is planned and quoted in just the same way.
Can one trip link several places?
Yes. A week from Lucerne to Interlaken and on to Zermatt goes in a single request; just say where you sleep each night.
Why does each town have different stopping rules?
Because cities and cantons set them. Lucerne asks for a booked voucher at its central coach stops, Bern's coach sites are free today, and Geneva publishes a single city coach park. Each page explains what applies.
